POSITION PURPOSE: Serve guest needs by assisting with food and beverages from kitchen or bar and completing guest requests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver food from kitchen to the guest ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in clearing, cleaning and set-up of tables, chairs, linens, china, glass and silver for service in an unobtrusive manner; greet guests according to the St. Regis Standards to ensure superior service.
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Assist in stocking linens, china, glass, silver, and food items for service
- Assist in the breakdown, cleaning and set-up of buffets and food stations.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- Greet and escort guests to their tables
- Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
- Adhere to timing standards for products and services
- Inform guests about the day’s specials
- Offer menu recommendations upon request.
- Make suggestions based on their preferences.
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate
- Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software
- Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Communicate order details to the kitchen
- Serve food and drink orders. Ensure hot food is hot and cold food is cold
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
