Job Responsibilities:
- Consistently offers professional, engaging, and friendly service.
- Report for duty punctually, in the correct uniform, clean and neatly pressed.
- Carry out duties as assigned, also refer to cleaning schedules and perform the necessary duties.
- Use the appropriate cleaning materials and equipment.
- Check equipment daily to ensure they are in good working condition and promptly report any defects/malfunctions to the Supervisor or a senior person.
- Cleans stoves, ovens, grills, refrigerators, and using cleaning solutions, brushes, and washcloths.
- Washes utensils, such as pots, pans, and trays by hand using cleaning detergents. Washes dishware, glasses, and cutlery by hand or machine. Occasionally polishes utensils. Drains, dry and pack away items after washing in an organized and safe manner.
- If any breakages or chipped items are found, remove from circulation, and update the breakage and inventory register.
- Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the senior chef on duty.
- May assist with food preparation, such as blending soups, washing and peeling vegetables.
- May help set up and break down cooking equipment such as pasta maker, mincer, food processors, ice cream maker.
- Ensure floors are clean and dry always.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized always.
- Collects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.
- Ensure waste bin areas are kept clean, sanitary & tidy.
- Ensure there is no pile up of cartons, dirty dish towels and delivery containers
- Consistently adhere to Safety Data Sheet information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace.
- Check all chemical levels and inventory.
- Any other reasonable requests made by Management.
- Effective waste management.
