Core Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development and Execution:
  • Create innovative and appealing menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and target audience.
  • Develop and standardize recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes, maintaining high culinary standards.
  • Adapt menus based on seasonal availability, customer feedback, and current culinary trends.
  • Kitchen Management:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and dishwashers.
  • Create work schedules and assign tasks to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure proper functioning of all kitchen equipment and arrange for maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Inventory and Cost Control:
  • Manage food inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients.
  • Monitor food costs and implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and quality of ingredients.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and audits.
  • Staff Training and Development:
  • Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide ongoing training on culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen procedures.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain a positive working atmosphere.
  • Quality Control and Customer Satisfaction:
  • Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Monitor customer feedback and address any complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to health and safety regulations.
