Job Description: Assistant Cook
Position Overview:
The Assistant Cook -role in supporting the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Working closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff, the Assistant Cook helps ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, contributing to the overall dining experience for our customers. NON- ARAB
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to the menu and recipes provided by the Head Chef.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and hygienic in accordance with company and Dubai Municipality standards.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to prevent food wastage and ensure food safety.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Help maintain kitchen equipment and report any malfunction or damage to the Head Chef.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels and communicating supply needs to the Head Chef.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Chef assistant or similar role in a professional kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical endurance to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
- Certification from a culinary school or relevant training is a plus.
Working Conditions:
The Assistant Cook will primarily work in the kitchen. The role involves standing for long periods, working in hot and humid conditions, and handling kitchen equipment. Flexibility in working hours is required to meet the demands of the kitchen operation.
