Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Accountant with at least 8-10 years of experience in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing complex accounting functions. This role requires expertise in financial controls, reporting, tax compliance, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to senior management.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- General Ledger & Accounting Operations:
- Manage and oversee the company’s general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and ensure the integrity of accounting systems.
- Maintain an organized filing system for financial records and documents.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial performance to improve business efficiency and profitability.
- Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Manage VAT, sales tax, and other statutory filings as required.
- Lead the preparation for audits and manage the coordination of external auditors.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management:
- Develop and implement internal control systems to safeguard company assets and maintain accurate records.
- Identify areas for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Team Management & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, ensuring effective division of tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Provide training and guidance to accounting staff on best practices and systems.
- Ad-hoc Projects & Financial Strategy:
- Participate in key financial projects and provide insights on corporate strategy.
- Assist with financial due diligence, mergers, or acquisitions when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven Track Record: Strong background in financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting, and compliance.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar systems).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling, etc.).
- Leadership Skills: Experience leading an accounting team and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to report financial data to senior management and stakeholders.
