Job Description:

The Housekeeping Guest Room Runner is responsible for supporting the housekeeping team by delivering essential items, amenities, and supplies to guest rooms. This role involves assisting with room set-ups, ensuring the availability of requested items, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation in guest rooms.

  • Deliver requested items, such as extra towels, pillows, blankets, toiletries, or amenities, to guest rooms in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Assist housekeepers by transporting clean linens, towels, and other supplies to assigned floors or rooms.
  • Ensure all guest rooms are fully equipped with necessary items and are ready for guest use.
  • Respond to guest requests for additional amenities, such as toiletries, robes, or linens, in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Assist in performing room inspections to ensure rooms meet the hotel’s cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damaged items, or missing items to the housekeeping supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Ensure rooms are stocked and organized to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels of guest room supplies, including linens, towels, toiletries, and other amenities.
  • Keep track of items delivered to rooms and report shortages or replenishment needs to the supervisor.
  • Ensure supplies are kept clean, organized, and stored appropriately in designated storage areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in hallways, storage areas, and service rooms while carrying out deliveries.
  • Follow safety guidelines and hotel procedures when handling supplies, cleaning products, and other equipment.
  • Ensure safe and proper lifting techniques when handling heavy or bulky items.
  • Work closely with housekeeping staff and other departments to ensure a smooth flow of room readiness.
  • Assist housekeeping and maintenance teams with additional tasks as needed, such as reporting room status or helping with floor inspections.
  • Interact courteously and professionally with guests when delivering items, ensuring a high standard of guest service.
  • Respond promptly and politely to guest inquiries or requests, maintaining a friendly demeanor.
  • Provide excellent service to guests to enhance their experience and satisfaction with the hotel.

Desired Skill & Expertise:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar customer service role is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in hospitality or hotel services is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with guests and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in various temperatures and environments (i.e., hot kitchens, laundry areas, or outdoor spaces).
