Job Summary
The Assistant Chef will support the kitchen operations by assisting the Head Chef in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes, with a focus on continental cuisine. This role is responsible for maintaining kitchen standards, ensuring smooth food preparation, and upholding food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes, particularly continental cuisine, following recipes and quality standards.
- Kitchen Support: Aid the Head Chef in daily operations, including ingredient preparation, portioning, and plating.
- Quality Control: Ensure dishes are of the highest quality in taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Hygiene and Safety: Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards, adhering to health and safety regulations in all kitchen areas.
- Inventory Management: Help manage stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and monitor food storage to prevent wastage.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, assisting in training and mentoring junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Chef or in a similar role, with a strong background in continental cuisine.
