The Assistant Venue Manager will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, food quality, and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing the front-of-house team, assisting with event coordination, ensuring smooth service flow, and supporting the Venue Manager in achieving operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Supervise the front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service, including waitstaff, hosts, and bartenders.
- Coordinate and manage guest seating and table assignments during peak hours.
- Ensure the venue is well-maintained, clean, and welcoming for guests.
- Ensure the highest level of customer service, addressing guest needs, complaints, and special requests.
- Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle customer concerns or feedback with professionalism, working toward immediate resolution.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and supervising front-of-house staff to ensure consistent service standards.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure optimal coverage during service hours.
- Motivate staff to deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive work environment.
- Assist with organizing and coordinating special events, private dining, and group reservations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure events are executed smoothly.
- Ensure all event details (e.g., menu, seating, timing) are communicated effectively to staff.
- Ensure the restaurant adheres to health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
- Assist with enforcing alcohol service regulations and maintaining a safe environment.
- Monitor restaurant supplies, including linens, glassware, and cleaning products.
- Help maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure proper stock levels of beverages and food items, coordinating with kitchen and bar staff.
- Assist in managing budgets, including labor and operational costs.
Desired Skill & Expertise:
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service and restaurant operations.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the restaurant industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.
