F&B Service Expert

POSITION PURPOSE: Serve guest needs by assisting with food and beverages from kitchen or bar and completing guest requests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Deliver food from kitchen to the guest ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in clearing, cleaning and set-up of tables, chairs, linens, china, glass and silver for service in an unobtrusive manner; greet guests according to the St. Regis Standards to ensure superior service.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Assist in stocking linens, china, glass, silver, and food items for service
  • Assist in the breakdown, cleaning and set-up of buffets and food stations.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Greet and escort guests to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
  • Adhere to timing standards for products and services
  • Inform guests about the day’s specials
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request.
  • Make suggestions based on their preferences.
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate order details to the kitchen
  • Serve food and drink orders. Ensure hot food is hot and cold food is cold
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
