Position Title : Head Waitress

Division & Dept : Food and Beverage

Reports to : Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager

Effective Date : Immediate start preferred

About the Role

F&B Head waiter’s job is to provide great customer service while performing their regular waiter duties, as well as managing their fellow waiters. Great multi-tasking and quick decision making are the key to success in this position. Supervisory capacity is a must too as their responsibilities include hosting, creating relationships with guests by offering exceptional & timely service & overseeing opening & closing duties for the welfare of the operation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Punctual
  • Look professional & abide grooming standards
  • Complete all assigned tasks delegated by the Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager
  • Ensure side stations are fully stored
  • Check with the Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager for miscellaneous duties to be completed before opening, during operation & at closing (checking on WC, helping the barista, arranging staff room…)
  • Welcome and greet guests as per required standards
  • Follow service sequence
  • Show concern in guest’s wants and needs
  • Check regularly side station and if anything missing ask the runner to replenish
  • Notify the Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager if adjustments are needed in the general atmosphere (music, AC…)
  • Offer outstanding service
  • Suggestive selling techniques
  • Follow-up on food and beverage lateness in cobordance with Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager
  • Supervise waiter’s performance working on same section
  • Take care of cleanliness of tables
  • Support team members when needed
  • Report to Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager about any comment or complaint
  • Coordinate with Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager on permission to leave the appointed section
  • Calling to clean-up as workflow permits
  • Assign closing tasks to waiters
  • Help waiters with closing tasks
  • Evaluate the shift with Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager
  • Attend briefings & general meetings with full attention & consider comments for better future performance
  • Ask Floor Supervisor – Assistant Manager – Restaurant Manager for permission to leave
  • Meticulous in count, documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Knows how to speak, read & write English
  • Speak Arabic is a plus
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in hospitality / food and beverage industry
  • Worked in an international, healthy, Italian, French or casual diner concept or café
  • POS experience (Micros, RM, Odoo…)
  • Has Microsoft office experience (Word, excel, outlook)
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Knowledge of hospitality functions
  • Experience in following instructions
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Trustworthy
