Job Summary:
The Housekeeper Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of assigned areas. This role involves training team members, inspecting rooms and facilities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:1. Supervision & Team Management:
- Lead, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Assign tasks and schedules to team members, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Conduct daily briefings and provide guidance on cleaning procedures.
2. Quality Control & Inspections:
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.
- Report maintenance issues and follow up on repairs.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
3. Inventory & Supplies Management:
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, linen, and amenities as needed.
- Maintain stock records and coordinate with suppliers if required.
4. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and equipment.
- Train staff on emergency procedures and safe work practices.
5. Guest & Staff Relations:
- Address guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Foster teamwork and resolve conflicts among staff members.
- Provide performance feedback and assist in staff evaluations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role (hospitality/hotel experience preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and time management.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/move heavy items (up to 25-30 lbs), stand for long hours, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Housekeeping Management or related field.
- Bilingual skills (if applicable).
