HR Advisor

Role Overview:

The HR Advisor provides highly effective, professional and proactive HR support and advice to both managers and employees within the UAE. The role holder has significant generalist HR experience and can handle most day-to-day matters independently, escalating issues as required. The role holder is heavily involved in HR operations and can identify best practice HR procedures to deliver an efficient and added value HR service. They are also responsible for all required aspects of Government Relations and the management of working visas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for employees and managers with regards to HR and Training related queries, providing professional advice focused on business requirements as well as legislation
  • Managing and providing advice/guidance on all HR matters through the complete employee life cycle
  • Providing advice and guidance on employee relations issues in accordance with legislation (e.g. disciplinary matters, absence management etc.), identifying and mitigating risks
  • Accurately and timely processing of all HR issues and documentation in a professional manner, in line with HR policies and procedures and best practice, and ensuring that documentation is accurate, up to date and factual
  • Building and maintaining strong business relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring delivery of a credible, value adding service
  • Maintaining accurate HR records in line with Data Protection requirements to maintain the integrity of HR data. This includes carrying out payroll related processes including starters, leavers, payments, deductions etc., ensuring compliance with process and high levels of accuracy
  • Delivering presentations, training and coaching on HR topics as required
  • Proactively identifying gaps and/or risks and proposing changes
  • Updating management on any new regulations issued by government entities and ensuring our compliance
  • Providing HR reports as requested
  • Carrying out all required aspects of Government Relations
  • Managing working visas for all staff in the UAE, to include applications, renewals and cancellations as required
  • Undertaking HR projects as discussed and agreed

Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • CIPD or equivalent HR qualification
  • Strong knowledge of UAE HR practices, labour laws and governmental requirements
  • Experience of working within the JAFZA freezone and with authorities
  • Demonstrating continuing professional development relevant to Human Resources and Training
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar level generalist HR role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programmes (e.g. excel, word)
  • Previous experience using/updating an HR Information System
  • UAE Driving Licence
