Full job description
1. Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure that all kitchen surfaces, floors, and walls are clean and sanitized.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
2. Waste Management:
- Properly dispose of kitchen waste and ensure bins are emptied regularly.
- Manage recycling and composting as required.
3. Inventory and Stock Management:
- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing food supplies and other kitchen items.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when stocks are low.
4. Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean kitchen appliances and machinery.
- Report any damages or malfunctions to the kitchen manager or maintenance team.
5. Food Preparation Support:
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff by prepping ingredients or fetching items as needed.
- Maintain the organization of food storage areas.
6. Safety Compliance:
- Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
7. Team Support:
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down workstations.
8. Miscellaneous Duties:
- Polish silverware, glasses, and plates when necessary.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks as requested by kitchen supervisors.
