Core Responsibilities:
- Menu Development and Execution:
- Create innovative and appealing menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and target audience.
- Develop and standardize recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of all dishes, maintaining high culinary standards.
- Adapt menus based on seasonal availability, customer feedback, and current culinary trends.
- Kitchen Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and dishwashers.
- Create work schedules and assign tasks to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and sanitation regulations.
- Ensure proper functioning of all kitchen equipment and arrange for maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Inventory and Cost Control:
- Manage food inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients.
- Monitor food costs and implement strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and quality of ingredients.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and audits.
- Staff Training and Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide ongoing training on culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen procedures.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback and coaching.
- Maintain a positive working atmosphere.
- Quality Control and Customer Satisfaction:
- Ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards and customer expectations.
- Monitor customer feedback and address any complaints or concerns promptly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
