Full job description

This position assists with daily operations of the Bookstore. The Bookstore Sales assistant is responsible for assisting the Bookstore Manager with the sale of books and merchandise, while providing quality customer service. The Sales assistant will be responsible for assisting with traditional and sales, shipping, and receiving of merchandise. They must also be able to conduct business and make decisions in the absence of the Bookstore Manager. They will also be taking online orders Via shopify, including but not limited to Packaging and shipping.

Roles and responsibilities:

Provide face-to-face customer service (Including cashier support, retail floor support)

Operation of the store’s point-of-sale (POS) computer system

Assist in maintaining fully stocked sales floor; organize displays to achieve maximum utilization of space and eye appeal.

offer ideas for expanding and improving services and product offerings to customers.

Close-up or open shop on time depending on assigned shift

Skills Required:

Interest in books/comics/pop-culture

Shopify experience is a plus

Ability to differentiate between genres and bindings

Personal relation skills and flexibility

Knowledge of general retail procedures and bookkeeping knowledge

Experience required:

Retail sales with experience in working with the public preferred
