Job Title: Waiter/CashierResponsibilities:Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously as they enter the establishment.
- Escort customers to their tables and present the menu.
- Answer customer questions about menu items, specials, and ingredients.
- Take food and drink orders accurately, making suggestions or providing recommendations when needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages to customers’ tables.
- Check in with customers during their meal to ensure satisfaction.
- Respond to customer requests and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Cashier Duties:
- Accurately process customer payments using cash, credit, or debit card.
- Issue receipts, change, and ensure the correct amount is received.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, including handling cash registers.
- Provide customers with their bills and make sure they are correct.
- Close out customer tabs and process payments at the end of the dining experience.
- Maintain proper cash handling procedures, balancing the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
Food and Beverage Preparation (Optional):
- Assist with the preparation and organization of food and beverages before serving.
- Ensure that orders are properly garnished and visually appealing before presenting them to customers.
Teamwork and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bussers, and other waitstaff to ensure smooth service operations.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and management regarding customer needs, stock levels, or any issues that arise.
- Assist with setting up tables and cleaning up after guests.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Clean tables, chairs, and the dining area as necessary.
- Ensure that condiments, silverware, and napkins are stocked and available for customers.
- Maintain cleanliness in both the front-of-house and cashier areas, including taking out trash and organizing workstations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (optional but preferred).
- Previous experience in food service or cashiering is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
- Ability to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to carry trays, dishes, and drinks.
- Lifting and moving light to moderate weight items.
