Job Summary:
The waitress is responsible for providing excellent customer service by attending to guests’ needs in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. Duties include taking orders, serving food and beverages, answering questions about the menu, and ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus and assist customers in selecting food and beverages.
- Provide recommendations and upsell items when appropriate.
- Address special dietary needs or preferences.
2. Order Management:
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
- Confirm special requests with the kitchen, such as food allergies or modifications.
- Serve meals and drinks promptly and correctly.
3. Dining Experience:
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages.
- Handle complaints or issues swiftly and professionally, escalating them to the manager if necessary.
4. Cleaning and Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including tables, chairs, and service areas.
- Set up and clear tables efficiently, ensuring a high turnover rate during busy periods.
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a sanitary dining environment.
5. Billing and Payments:
- Prepare accurate bills and process various payment methods.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions responsibly.
6. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate guest feedback and special instructions effectively to other team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a waitress or in a customer service role is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic math skills for handling payments.
Schedule:
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
